Czech Post giving municipalities more favourable conditions for Post Partner scheme
Czech Post is negotiating with the three hundred municipalities in which its branches are due to close as of July in order to find a viable solution for local residents. Following complaints from local mayors the state-owned company is now offering them the opportunity to join the Post Partner scheme under better conditions than in the past. The cost of the undertaking will be shared between the post office and the operator. Over 800 of the current 3,200 post office branches are now operated within the Post Partner scheme. Most often they are operated by village shops in the form of a single counter.
