Milan Kundera Library opens in Brno

The long-awaited Milan Kundera Library opened within the spaces of the Moravian Library in Brno on April 1, the day of the famous writer's 94th birthday. The library features more than 3,000 publications by the author, as well as related works by literary critics and his personal archive, which was transported from France to Kundera’s city of origin last year.

The library will serve not just as a reading room, but also as a place for readers’ discussions, public readings and for meetings with Czech and foreign authors to reflect on Kundera’s worldwide acclaim

The opening was attended by Culture Minister Martin Baxa and the head of the Moravian Library Tomáš Kubíček.
