Brno voted European Capital of Christmas 2024

The city of Brno has won the title of European Capital of Christmas in the category of cities with over 100,000 inhabitants. The European Capital of Christmas and European City of Christmas awards have been given out since 2017 under the auspices of the European Parliament.

An international jury praised the city's modern Advent markets and their connection to traditional European values. This year, the Brno 'dragon', which hangs in the passage of the Old Town Hall, has been decorated with a light installation in the form of a cosy winter jumper.
