Kenyans dominate Prague Half Marathon

The Prague Half Marathon took place in the Czech capital this Saturday, with both the male and female categories being won by Kenyans. Roncer Kipkorir Konga finished the race in first place within the men’s category with a time of 59:43. Patrik Vebr was the fastest Czech with a total time of 1:05:42 and finished 11th overall.

Keyna’s Irine Jepchumba Kimais was the fastest woman, with a time of 1:06:00. Moira Stewart, a Prague-born long-distance runner with partial Scottish heritage, was the fastest Czech, coming in just under seven minutes behind the winner. However, she said after the race that she was dissatisfied with the result as it was insufficient to qualify for the world championships.

The annual race takes place around the city’s Vltava river in the centre of Prague.
