Noskova beaten by Sabalenka after fairytale run in Adelaide

Teenage qualifier Linda Noskova’s hopes of winning her first WTA title were dashed by Aryna Sabalenka in Sunday’s final at the Adelaide International in Australia. The 18-year-old Czech lost to Sabalenka from Belarus 3:6 and 6:7. Nevertheless Noskova played the best tournament of her career and moved up in the rankings from 102nd place to the top 60. Earlier the 18-year-old from Vsetin beat top seed and WTA world number 2 Ons Jabeur 6:3, 1:6, 6:3 and knocked out former world number 1 Victoria Azarenka 6:4, 6:7, 7:6.
