Czechia not introducing compulsory tests for travelers from China for time being

Czechia will not for the time being introduce a requirement for compulsory PCR Covid tests for travelers coming from China, the Czech Health Ministry announced. Its spokesman said this was not considered necessary for the time being since there is no direct air link from China, but the decision could be reviewed in the future.

European Union member states agreed on Wednesday to "strongly encourage" a requirement that would obligate all travelers coming from China, regardless of nationality, to present a negative COVID-19 test as the number of infections surges in the Asian country. The decision, which is not legally binding, was made by the EU's integrated political crisis response (IPCR), a body that helps coordinate crisis management among the 27 member states.
