Survey: Over 80 percent of Czechs use smartphones

Some 81 percent of Czechs over the age of 16 use a smartphone, according to data released by the Czech Statistics Office on Tuesday.

Over the past five years, the figure has increased by 18 percentage points. In contrast, the use of button phones without an operating system fell from 39 percent in to 19 percent over the same period.

According to the survey, 77 percent of Czechs have internet on their mobile phone, which is an increase by 65 percentage points over a decade.
