Tons of fish found dead in Dyje river
Several dozens of tons of dead fish have been discovered in the Dyje river in South Moravia, the Czech News Agency reported on Thursday.
The reason for the many dead fish is the loss of oxygen in the river in connection with the overgrowth of cyanobacteria, according to the spokesman of the Povodí Moravy administration Petr Chmelař.
The spokeswoman of nearby Břeclav City Hall, Jana Pelcová, told Czech Television that clearing the large amount of dead fish will take at least a week.
