Geoffrey Rush and Benicio Del Toro to attend this year’s KVIFF

Australian actor Geoffrey Rush and American actor/producer Benicio del Toro will be attending this year’s Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (KVIFF) which is set to run from July 1-9, the president of the festival, Jiří Bartoška, announced on Tuesday.

Mr Rush will receive this year’s KVIFF Chrystal Globe award for his extraordinary contribution to international film. Meanwhile, Benicio del Toro will be given the Festival President’s Award. Both actors will receive their awards at the end of the festival.

To honour Del Toro, the festival will also screen two films in which he acted –The Usual Suspects and Traffic.

Mr Bartoška said that this year’s KVIFF signature tune will be dedicated to Iva Janžurová, who received the Festival President’s Award in 2015.
