Karlovy Vary film festival kicks off on Friday evening

The 56th edition of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival will kick off in the West Bohemian spa town on Friday evening with a screening of Superheroes, a romantic film by Italian director Paolo Genovese from last year.

The main guests of the festival this year include the Australian Oscar-winning actor Geoffrey Rush, who will receive a lifetime achievement award for his contribution to world cinematography and US actor and producer Benicio del Toro, who will be presented the KVIFF president’s award.
