Lipavský: Czechia has offered help to nearly 400,000 Ukrainians on its territory

The Czech Republic has offered help to nearly 400,000 Ukrainians on its territory, Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský said at the Prague High-Level Dialogue on the Indo-Pacific conference on Monday. So far, 371,282 people fleeing the invaded country have received temporary visas, the Czech News Agency reports.

At the conference, Mr Lipavský said that Euro-Atlantic and Indo-Pacific security are inseparable and that respect to international law, the territorial sovereignty of states and to the right to self-determination should always be defended.

The conference is focused on the Indo-Pacific, which is a region that the Czech foreign minister says will be one of the priorities of the upcoming Czech presidency of the EU Council. Czechia hopes to intensify dialogues related to security, defence, cybersecurity and space security with partners from the region during its presidency, the minister said. He also noted potential for cooperation between the EU and countries from the region on issues related to ecology, science and technology as well as the digital transformation of trade and public services.
