Group weighing changes in Czech lower house meeting next week
A working group considering changes to the rules of the Czech lower house will meet for the first time next week, Czech Television reported on Sunday. Some members of the group say that new norms could be introduced during the present electoral period.
The coalition government is seeking to curb the practice of filibustering in the Chamber of Deputies, which has led to some sessions running through much of the night in recent months.
The opposition parties, some of whose MPs have recently been speaking at great length in the lower house, are cool on the idea of change, Czech Television said.
