Eurostat: Czechs spend more on premium healthcare

Czechs are more willing to spend on premium healthcare, according to the data by the European Statistics Office, Eurostat.

Last year, premium healthcare expenses accounted for 2.8 percent of overall household spending, which is still considerably less than in Western countries.

On average, Czechs pay more than CZK 7,000 a year for healthcare, compared to around CZK 5,000 a decade ago. In comparison, the average expenses for alcohol and cigarettes account for over eight percent of Czech households’ budget.
