Charles Bridge to light up in Ukrainian colours to mark International Day of Light
Prague’s Charles Bridge will light up on Friday and Saturday to mark the International Day of Light. Laser beams in the colours of Ukrainian Flag will connect the two towers of the bridge between 8 pm to midnight to mark the International Day of Light.
The event, organised Prague’s Signal Festival of light art in cooperation with the ELI Beamlines international research centre, is meant to highlight the role of science.
The International Day of Light is celebrated on May 16, when the first laser beam was fired by American physicist and engineer Theodore Maiman.
