Minister: Estimated 150,000 Ukrainian refugees now in CR
The Czech minister of the interior, Vít Rakušan, said on Wednesday morning that there were now an estimated 150,000 Ukrainian refugees in the country. The Czech authorities have so far given out over 90,000 special visas to Ukrainians fleeing Russia’s war on their country.
The majority of those seeking refuge from the violence are women and children.
Mr. Rakušan previously said that the Czech Republic could take in a quarter of a million or more Ukrainian refugees.
