Average mortgage rate in Czech Republic jumps to 3.4 percent

The average mortgage rate in the Czech Republic climbed to 3.43 percent in January from 2.99 percent the previous month. According to an index compiled by financial advisors Fincentrum that was the single biggest one-month jump since 2003, when the company began monitoring the market.

Analyst Jiří Sýkora told the Czech News Agency that similar rises will be seen in the coming months. He said the mortgage rate could reach around 5.5 percent in the second half of 2022.
