Pirate Party leader Ivan Bartoš to run for reelection
The head of the Pirate Party Ivan Bartoš has announced his decision to run for reelection to the top post at the party’s upcoming election conference in January. The party leader faced criticism for the Pirates’ poor showing in October’s general elections when the party they had formed an alliance with –the Mayors and Independents – secured the vast majority of seats in the lower house, taking 33 of the 37 seats won by the alliance. Mr. Bartoš laid the blame on what he said was a destructive media campaign against his party led by Prime Minister Andrej Babiš.
