Czech model Tereza Hlůšková likely to be released from Pakistani jail within hours
Czech model Tereza Hlůšková, 25, who was acquitted of drug trafficking charges after serving close to four years in a Pakistani jail, is likely to be released this weekend, the Czech Foreign Ministry said on Friday. According to the ministry the paperwork for her release, including a written version of the verdict, has now been completed. She is expected to return to her homeland in the coming 24 hours.
Hlušková was sentenced to 8.5 years in prison in 2018 for trying to smuggle nine kilograms of heroin out of the country. She pleaded innocent saying someone must have planted the drugs in her suitcase. Earlier this month the Lahore Court of Appeal ruled that the prosecution had failed to prove its case beyond a reasonable doubt, and ordered that she be released from prison.
