Number of detected COVID-19 cases rising for third day in a row
Wednesday saw 261 coronavirus cases detected in Czechia, Health Ministry data shows. That is 16 cases more than on the same day the previous week and the third day in a row that cases are rising. The reproduction lies at 1.05. There is an average of 13 positive cases per 100,000 people in the population.
The biggest hotspot of the epidemic in the country is currently Prague, where there are on average 26 cases per 100,000 people, followed by the Karlovy Vary and South Bohemian regions with 20 and 18 cases respectively.
53 people infected with the virus required hospitalisation on Wednesday with 9 in serious condition.
