Covid cases recorded on Monday up on same day last week

Some 241 new cases of Covid-19 were registered in the Czech Republic on Monday, 33 more than on the same day last week. Prague currently has the highest rate of infection, with 28 new cases per 100,000 people over the last week.

The reproduction rate now stands at 1.05. It is the fifth day in a row that it has been above 1.0, which indicates that the epidemic is accelerating.

On Monday there were 53 people in hospital with the coronavirus, eight of them in a critical condition.
