Covid-19 incidence rate continues to rise
Some 493 new cases of Covid-19 were registered in the Czech Republic on Monday, a quarter more than on the same day last week. It is the second-highest daily increase since the start of June.
There were 139 people hospitalised with the coronavirus, with 21 of them in a critical condition.
The reproduction rate now stands just below 1.2. It has been above 1.0, which indicates that the epidemic is accelerating, since the end of August.
The seven-day incidence was 25 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. The region of Karlovy Vary has the highest rate of infection, with 47 infected people per 100,000 population.
