New stretch of highway opens to pedestrians and scooter riders
Highway D6, which will link Prague with the Karlovy Vary region, has been under construction for nearly 40 years. Another stretch, a 5-kilometre bypass of the town of Lubenec, has just been completed. Shortly ahead of the opening, set for late August, the D6 opened to the public, including pedestrians, cyclists and scooter riders. Apart from testing a new stretch of highway, they also had a chance to see road building machines and firefighter trucks up close.
