Covid: Reproduction number drops below 1.0

The Covid reproduction number has dropped below the critical 1.0 mark for the first time in two weeks, according to Czech Health Ministry data. It is now at 0.96. On Sunday the Czech Republic registered 107 new cases of Covid infection, which is 31 less than on the same day a week ago. 52 people are currently hospitalized with Covid, of whom eight are in a serious condition.

Although the epidemic appears to be under control, the health authorities have advised caution in view of the worsening situation in neighbor countries such as Austria and Germany.
