Slight drop in Covid cases, but reproduction number still at 1.03

There were 77 newly confirmed Covid cases on Sunday, which is 27 less than on the same day last week. The two-day decline in numbers follows a period of eight-day growth which saw the reproduction number cross the critical 1.0 mark. It is now at 1.03. 46 people are hospitalized with Covid of whom 14 are in a serious condition. In the last seven days the Czech Republic registered 1,260 new cases of the infection, mostly of the Delta variant, which is 6 percent more than a week ago.
