Czech Defence Ministry selects Afghan translators who will receive support
The Czech Defence Ministry has selected Afghan translators who will receive support in response to the threat they face from advancing Taliban troops. The help will be primarily composed of financial support, but their resettlement in the Czech Republic is also an option, Defence Ministry spokeswoman Jana Zechmeisterová said on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is ready to make an exception for the Czech Embassy in Kabul to quickly prepare the necessary visas.
Czech authorities are unwilling to disclose further details for security reasons. According to the Czech News Agency, the support programme encompasses roughly 20 Afghan translators.
