Million Moments for Democracy call another protest for independent judiciary
A protest advocating for an "independent judiciary", called by the anti-government protest movement Million Moments for Democracy, is due to take place in central Prague on Thursday. Organizers are demanding the removal of Justice Minister Marie Benešová following the resignation last week of the Supreme State Attorney Pavel Zeman.
Mr Zeman, who is stepping down on June 30, told reporters he felt pressured by Ms Benešová, who allegedly threatened him with a disciplinary charge for having spoken to reporters about the 2014 blast in Vrbětice, blamed on Russian agents.
The last demonstration organised by Million Moments took place on Wenceslas Square three weeks ago, attracting some 10,000 people.
