Czech MP Jiří Ventruba dies of Covid

Czech MP Jiří Ventruba has died after being hospitalised with a serious case of Covid-19. The deputy with the Civic Democrats, who was a neurological surgeon of 71, passed away on Tuesday, his party leader Petr Fiala informed a session of the lower house, which held a minute’s silence in his honour. He was the first Czech legislator to die of the virus.
