President approves bonus for people in quarantine

People quarantined due to Covid-19 will receive a bonus of up to CZK 370 a day. The draft legislation was signed into law by president Miloš Zeman on Friday.

The new bonus is to complement sickness benefits and will be paid out to people who have been ordered to quarantine for 14 days. The total sum should not exceed 90 percent of their average earnings.

The aim of the bonus is to motivate people to remain in isolation and report their contacts to hygiene officers, in order to help curb the spread of coronavirus.
