Compulsory Covid tests begin at large Czech companies

Compulsory testing for Covid-19 at Czech firms with 250 or more employees began on Wednesday. All staff at such companies must be tested by March 12 under an order from the government, which decided to keep factories and other such workplaces open when it introduced new measures to combat a surge in Covid cases.

The government has recommended that companies have antigen tests conducted by doctors or mobile health teams, in which case the tests are covered by health insurance. If companies carry out tests themselves they receive a contribution for each one from the state. Employees must be tested at least once a week.
