Roman Vondrouš wins Pictures of the Year International award

Czech News Agency photographer Roman Vondrouš has been awarded the Pictures of the Year International award in the sports category for his series of images depicting fans of Prague football team Bohemians 1905 scaling a ladder to follow their team’s match during coronavirus restrictions.

Mr. Vondrouš has long been among the most highly regarded Czech photojournalists, having won the World Press Photo award in the same category in 2013.

Each year more than 52,000 works are submitted to the Pictures of the Year International Competition out of which 240 winners are selected. The competition is  organised by the Missouri School of Journalism's Donald W. Reynolds Journalism Institute.
