Jágr among names calling for Hnilička to stay in sports post
Well-known names in Czech sport have come out in support of the government’s special commissioner for sport, Milan Hnilička, who on Monday stood down as an MP for the ANO party after evidence emerged that he had attended an illegal party at the weekend.
Mr. Hnilička said he would decide on whether to resign as head of the National Sports Agency if he did not win backing from the world of Czech sport. On Monday evening figures such as Jaromír Jágr, Barbora Špotáková and Radek Štěpánek were among those who signed a statement calling on him to stay on.
