Czech Republic’s “risk score” currently equivalent to lower emergency level

All regions in the Czech Republic are currently in the fifth, highest level of emergency, according to the Ministry of Health. However, the risk level number is actually equivalent to the lower, fourth level emergency. If this remains to be the case until Wednesday, the ministry will propose easing certain measures, Czech Radio reports.

The fourth risk level envisions the opening of primary schools for all pupils and moving the night curfew from 9pm to 11pm.

The new type of emergency level ranking is called the Counter-Epidemic Score (PES) it envisions five levels of alertness based on a number lying between 1 to 100. The number is calculated from the value of the reproduction number, the rate of individuals who have tested positive over the past seven days and the number of infected among the general and senior population.
