Turn of month seen as most critical period for Covid spread

The most critical period as regards the spread of the coronavirus in the Czech Republic is likely to arrive at the turn of October, according to a virtual model presented on Thursday by the head of the Institute of Health Information and Statistics, Ladislav Dušek. After that point measures aimed at containing Covid-19 should mean that numbers fall, he said.

Mr. Dušek said that if the reproduction number remained at the current level of 1.6 then around 60,000 people would catch the virus in the Czech Republic in the course of September.
