August 2020 one of Prague’s warmest in almost 250 years
This year’s August was the eights warmest in Prague since 1775, when the oldest Czech meteorological station at the city’s Klementinum first began keeping records.
The average temperature in the eighth month of the year was 22.1 degrees Celsius, which was 1.8 degrees Celsius warmer than the long-term average for August.
The highest temperature for the month was recorded in 1807, when it reached over 25 degrees Celsius.
