It has been twenty years since the release of the Czech film Šakalí léta, the debut by director Jan Hřebejk who became one of the best-known filmmakers in the country. Šakalí léta brought the musical back to the big screen and starred Martin Dejdar as a rocker with a guitar in Communist Czechoslovakia.
