Photo exhibition raises over 1 million crowns for children of Sierra Leone
They say that a photograph speaks a thousand words. Well, the Czech photographer Jan Sibik certainly demonstrated as much when he returned from Sierra Leone with twelve colour stills depicting the true cost of war upon the children of the West African nation. His UNICEF-sponsored exhibition toured the Czech Republic and under the title 'Give a Hand to the Children of Sierra Leone', raised over one million crowns in charity donations.

His UNICEF-sponsored exhibition toured the Czech Republic and under the title 'Give a Hand to the Children of Sierra Leone', raised over one million crowns in charity donations. The Sierra Leone ambassador to Moscow, Melrose Kai-Banya, was in Prague on Wednesday to thank the Czech people and to highlight the sickening cost of war in her country. Even though the massacres and mutilations in Sierra Leone had been widely reported, Jan Sibik was still deeply effected by what he saw and photographed.
