Nine out of the ten highest temperatures in the Czech Republic are from the past weekend
Meteorologists confirmed on Monday that the new absolute temperature record for the Czech Republic is Sunday’s 41.9°C in Doksany in the Litoměřice region. In addition, nine out of the ten highest temperatures recorded in the Czech Republic in the history of measurements are from the past weekend, the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (ČHMÚ) announced in a press release.
The only temperature in the top ten that is not from last Saturday and Sunday is the previous nationwide record of 40.4°C, measured on 20 August 2012 in Dobřichovice near Prague.
