Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds returned to Prague’s O2 Arena, to promote their new album Wild God, released in late summer 2024.

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds performed in Prague on Thursday to promote their new album Wild God, which was released at the end of this summer. They returned to the O2 Arena after three years. Their last performance in the Czech capital was in 2022 at an outdoor concert during the Metronome Prague festival, which lasted over two hours. The Australian composer, lyricist, singer, and writer described the new album Wild God as "complex, but also deeply and joyfully infectious."

In addition to The Bad Seeds, which includes drummer Thomas Wydler, bassist Martyn Casey, keyboardist Jim Sclavunos, violinist and multi-instrumentalist Warren Ellis, and guitarist George Vjestica, the album also featured collaborations with Colin Greenwood from Radiohead and guitarist Luis Almau.

Cave enjoys a dedicated fanbase in the Czech Republic and has been performing on Czech stages regularly since the early 1990s. Over the years, he has evolved from a wild punk rocker to a rock balladeer and the creator of famous ballads. He has had several bands, and his career began in 1984 with the release of his debut album From Her To Eternity with The Bad Seeds.

The deep-voiced singer remains a prolific creator-whether in music, literature, or film projects. His most commercially successful album is Murder Ballads from 1996, which included his first major hit, the duet Where The Wild Roses Grow with pop singer Kylie Minogue.

Cave has also appeared in several films and composed music for others. As an actor and composer, he contributed to Wim Wenders' film Wings of Desire. His rich artistic career, its themes, and his style are also reflected in the recently published book Faith, Hope, and Carnage, a series of interviews between Cave and Irish singer and journalist Seán O'Hagan.
