The shortage of some vital medicines on the Czech market could be solved by supplies from South Korea, the speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, Markéta Pekarová Adamová, told the Czech News Agency on Saturday after her visit to Seoul.

According to Mrs Pekarová Adamová it will take at most a few months before antibiotics or children's syrups produced in South Korea could enter the Czech market. She also said they will first have to be assessed by the State Institute for Drug Control.

Czechia and other EU countries have been facing shortages of some medicines since last December. According to Health Minister Vlastimil Válek the problem will last until the summer holidays.
