Newly confirmed Covid cases and hospitalisations on rise

Some 542 new cases of Covid-19 were recorded in the Czech Republic on Wednesday, a rise of 147 on the same day last week. The number of people in hospital with the virus stood at 154, up from around 100 a week ago. Twenty-nine people are currently in a serious condition with Covid.

The reproduction number has fallen to 1.1. It has been on the decline for five days in succession.
