Moravian winemakers win eight big gold medals at competition in Spain

Moravian winemakers won eight big gold medals, thirty-three gold medals and seven silver medals at the Bacchus Madrid competition in Spain, out of 1,500 wine samples from around the world. The Tetur Winery from Velké Bílovice in the Břeclav region won the prize for the best dry white wine in the competition. The Czech Wine Fund, which financially supports the participation of winemakers in foreign competitions, reported the results.

Winemakers from Czechia sent 102 samples from fourteen producers to Madrid. The B/V winery from Milotice in the Hodonín region had great success, winning three large gold, sixteen gold and four silver medals. The samples were evaluated in a blind tasting by 100 expert judges from twenty-eight countries, including Czechia.
