Meteorologists issue heat warning for coming days
The Czech Hydrometeorological Institute has issued a warning ahead of an upcoming heatwave, with temperatures expected to exceed the 30 degrees Celsius mark for the entire week ahead. The heatwave should culminate next Thursday when afternoon highs may reach 36 degrees Celsius in places.
People are being advised to increase their intake of liquids, avoid physical exertion and stay out of the sun as much as possible. The authorities have also warned people not to leave children or animals in parked vehicles even for a few minutes. The police have reportedly had to deal with a number of such cases in recent days.
