Menšík and Muchová win US Open mixed doubles title

Jakub Menšík and Karolína Muchová have won the mixed doubles title at the US Open, claiming their first Grand Slam title. They beat fourth seeds Flavio Cobolli and Belinda Bencic 6-3, 1-6, 10-6 in the final in New York. The match lasted one hour and 13 minutes, with the winners sharing a one-million-dollar prize.

Menšík and Muchová entered the draw on a wild card and won all four of their matches together. In the semifinals, they beat Andrey Rublev and Mirra Andreeva after saving two match points.

The title came three days before the start of the US Open singles tournament. Muchová, a Wimbledon finalist this year, is seeded seventh, while Menšík, a French Open semifinalist, is seeded 17th.
