Karolína Muchová wins all-Czech match to reach US Open last 16

Karolína Muchová has reached the last 16 of the US Open after an all-Czech clash in New York. She beat Linda Nosková 6:7, 6:4, 6:2 in a match that lasted nearly two and a half hours.

The 29-year-old, seeded eleventh and a semifinalist at the past two editions, turned the duel around and will next face Ukraine’s Marta Kostyuk.

Muchová is the fifth Czech player to reach the fourth round this year, joining Jiří Lehečka, Tomáš Macháč, Markéta Vondroušová and Barbora Krejčíková. It is her third straight appearance in the US Open last 16, and the fourth in her career.
