Man gets suspended sentence for online approval of Christchurch atrocity

A man from Kraslice in West Bohemia has been found guilty of publicly approving of a terrorist attack on mosques in the New Zealand city of Christchurch. Jiří Kantor got a suspended sentence for supporting and promoting terrorism. The maximum possible term for such a crime is 15 years.

After a terrorist killed 51 people in two mass shootings in Christchurch Kantor shared a news story about it on Facebook and added the comment “job well done”. The court heard that the 31-year-old also shared a video of the atrocity with friends online.
