Majority of Czechs oppose US military aid suspension to Ukraine

More than half of Czechs disagree with US President Trump's decision to pause military aid to Ukraine, while a third of Czechs support it, according to a survey by NMS Market Research for Novinky.cz published on Thursday.

The poll also shows a notable shift in support for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, which rose by 11 percentage points after Trump’s clash with him last Friday. Now, 43% of Czechs support Zelensky, while 51.8% oppose the pause in US military aid, and 34.4% are in favour. Less than 14% of respondents were unsure or couldn't form an opinion.

Younger people and voters of the ruling parties are more likely to oppose the pause in military aid. Among 18 to 24-year-olds, about 60% disapprove, while 71% of the Together ruling coalition voters and 75% of Mayors and Independents voters share the same view. In contrast, 55% of ANO voters support Trump’s decision.
