Macinka at UN: Invasion is never legitimate, it’s time to end the war
Czech Foreign Minister Petr Macinka told the UN General Assembly that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine can never be justified, marking four years since the start of the war. Addressing his absent Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov, he said missiles are not arguments and described ongoing strikes as proof of Moscow’s failure. Macinka urged Russia to define what victory means, asking how many destroyed cities and lost lives are “enough.” A true great power, he argued, shows strength by ending wars, not prolonging them. Czechia will back Ukraine’s resolution at the UN.
