Leaders of Czech centre-right alliance Spolu sign coalition deal for autumn election

Leaders of the Czech governing parties signed a coalition agreement on Tuesday to contest the upcoming parliamentary election together under the Spolu (Together) alliance. Prime Minister Petr Fiala (Civic Democratic Party), Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies Markéta Pekarová Adamová (TOP 09), and Agriculture Minister Marek Výborný (Christian Democrats) will also launch the campaign in Prague. The agreement outlines candidate distribution and campaign responsibilities. Current polls place Spolu a distant second behind the opposition ANO Party. Fiala remains the only returning leader from Spolu’s 2021 campaign and says he wants to secure 30% of the vote despite changes in party leadership.
