Krejčíková advances to US Open semi-finals

Czech Barbora Krejčíková has reached the semi-finals of her US Open debut after defeating Kamilla Rakhimova of Russia 6-4, 6-2 in one hour and 12 minutes.

Krejčíková had lost in US Open qualifying five times between 2014 and 2019, but has surged in 2021 to win the Roland Garros title. The Czech No.8 seed will next face Garbine Muguruza of Spain.
