Karolína Plíšková reaches her first Wimbledon semi-final, Muchová exits in fifth round

Czech tennis player Karolína Plíšková reached her first Wimbledon semi-final on Tuesday after defeating Viktorija Golubi of Switzerland 6-2, 6-2.

The former world number, who is now ranked 13, will face either Belarussian second seed Aryna Sabalenka or Ons Jabeur of Tunisia for a place in Saturday's final.

Another Czech, Karolína Muchová, failed to reach the semi-finals after losing to Germany’s Angelique Kerber 2-6, 3-6.
